Mexetalk com as Hinds

As Hinds são uma das bandas confirmadas no Vodafone Mexefest deste ano, num cartaz que conta com Jessie Ware, Cigarettes After Sex, Everything Everything, Sevdaliza, entre outros. Esta será a segunda vez da banda no festival, e a quinta em Portugal depois de terem atuado no Vodafone Paredes de Coura, Musicbox, Hard Club e no Rock in Rio Lisboa.

Desde 2014, que a carreira das Hinds teve uma grande reviravolta. Na altura, com apenas três músicas no Youtube ("Bamboo", "Trippy Gum" e "Castigadas en el Granero") já se criava algum hype à volta desta banda espanhol lo-fi. Um ano depois, chegou o EP "Very Best of Hinds So Far" que continha os seus singles mais conhecidos até à data. O seu sucesso começava a ser notório pelos concertos que andavam a dar pelo mundo. Com o disco de estreia apelidado "Leave Me Alone", lançado em 2016, o êxito aumentou ainda mais. Devido a isso, fizeram uma tour em cada continente, e foram crescendo em palco, aos olhos de um público que as adora. Sendo impossível não se notar o seu progresso nos espetáculos que deram no nosso país. Agora com esta evolução, de certeza que vão dar um dos concertos mais inesquecíveis do Vodafone Mexefest. 

De forma a antecipar o seu regresso, decidimos ter uma Mexetalk com o grupo para nos falarem um pouco sobre o que se pode esperar este mês. 

Watch&Listen: O vosso primeiro concerto em Portugal foi no Vodafone Mexefest. Como é voltarem três anos depois? 

Hinds: Sentimo-nos fantásticas, estamos tão excitadas!! As pessoas em Portugal sempre nos trataram bem, e adoramos Lisboa!

W&L: Vocês têm andado a trabalhar em novas músicas. Vamos poder ouvir algo novo em breve?

Hinds: Sim!! Álbum número 2 está todo acabado e quase pronto!! Prometo que iremos lançar músicas novas em breve e com certeza iremos tocar novos temas no Mexefest! :)

W&L: Do que sentem mais falta de Portugal?

Hinds: Os reais pastéis de belém!!! haha

W&L: Se vocês pudessem fazer a banda sonora para um filme, qual seria?

Hinds: Penso que um filme do Wes Anderson ou do Tarantino. 

W&L: Têm alguma asneira favorita em português? Se sim, qual é? 

Hinds: Nem por isso! Adoramos aprender algumas palavras de cada país onde tocamos e português tem sido fixe e fácil até agora haha. 

W&L: Qual é a pior conceção errada que as pessoas têm de vocês?

Hinds: Não sei sobre a pior, mas a mais engraçada é a que fizemos um casting para fazer esta banda e somos uma criação da Coca-Cola. 

W&L: O que podem as pessoas esperar do vosso concerto no Vodafone Mexefest?

Hinds: Banhos de Super Bock e a melhor noite de 2017!!!!

Hinds are one of the bands confirmed at Vodafone Mexefest this years, a line-up with Jessie Ware, Cigarettes After Sex, Everything Everything, Sevdaliza, and many more. This will the band's second time at the festival, and their fifth in Portugal after playing at Vodafone Paredes de Coura, Musicbox, Hard Club and Rock in Rio Lisboa.

Since 2014, that Hinds' career had a plot twist. At the time, with only three songs on Youtube ("Bamboo", "Trippy Gum" and "Castigadas en el Granero") there was already com hype around this lo-fi Spanish band. A year later, the EP "Very Best of Hinds So Far" arrived with all their most known singles until that date. Their success was becoming noticeable by the shows they were giving all around the world. With their debut album called "Leave Me Alone", released in 2016, their success increased even more. Due to that, they did a tour in each continent, and they grew on stage, in the eyes of a audience that loves them. Being impossible not to notice their progress during the shows they played at our country. Now with this evolution, they will definitely play one of the most unforgettable gigs at Vodafone Mexefest.

To anticipate their comeback, we decided to have a Mexetalk with the group so that they could talk a little about what to expect this month.

Watch&Listen: Your first show in Portugal was at Vodafone Mexefest. How is it like to come back three years later?

Hinds: It feels awesome, we are so excited!! People in Portugal has always treated us so good, and we love Lisbon!

W&L: You have been working on new songs. Are we going to listen to something new soon?

Hinds: Yes!! album number 2 is all done and almost rrready!! I promise we'll put new songs out soon and we'll for sure play some new songs at Mexefest! :)

W&L: What do you miss the most about Portugal?

Hinds: The real pasteis do belem!!! haha.

W&L: If you could make a soundtrack for a movie, which one would it be and why?

Hinds: I think whatever Wes Anderson's movie, or Tarantino's.

W&L: Do you have any favorite curse word in Portuguese? If so, which one? 

Hinds: Not really! we love to learn some words of each country we play in and Portuguese has been nice and easy so far haha.

W&L: What is the worst misconception that people have of Hinds?  

Hinds: i dont know about the worst, but the funniest one is that we did a casting to make this band and and that we are a creation of Coca-Cola.

W&L: What can people expect from your show at Vodafone Mexefest?

Hinds: Super Bock showers and the best night of 2017!!!!
